Fuck you, Walmart

I wrapped up my apparently broken foot and went grocery shopping at Walmart this afternoon. I thought about using one of those scooters, but then I pictured me having to stand to reach items — stand, sit, stand, sit — no thanks. If I get to a standing position, I should stay there. I tried to use the buggy like a crutch, but it wasn’t working too well.

By the time I got to the check-out, I was sweating bullets. The back of my hair was drenched and for a second, I thought I must surelyΒ be in hell.

As I was checking out, I asked for help to my car. There was a change in shifts and three women were chatting around the register as I checked out. As the cashier approved my check, I asked again: Can someone help me out, please? By the time I was ready to go, they were still gabbing away. I finally said forget it and left.

By the time I got to my car, I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t hold back the tears. I tried to lift my case of bottled water into the trunk and the plastic ripped in my hands. Finally, a customer passing by offered to help me. Thanks, dude.

I really thought I would get more help from the people at Walmart. Employees, customers, anyone. But I have never felt so alone than I did today at Walmart.

  1. Walmart has really gone downhill since Sam Walton and his wife died. the kids just don’t care about the customer like Sam did. all they care about is money, money, money. the stores are trashed, they’re dirty, you can’t find anything and you can never find any help. God forbid they put some of their profits into the staff to take care of the customer.

  2. and this is why walmart sucks..they don’t pay their employees, they don’t have full time staff, so they don’t have to pay benefits, and this is what you get…employees who don’t care.

  3. =( I would have cried too.

    I hate Walmart. I go out of my way not to shop there. The SIX Walton heirs have as much $$$ as 42% of America. f*k them and their crappy service and stores. I’m just sorry you had to deal with it with no help.

  4. Okay I liked this to show support but don’t like it because WTF?! This is AWFUL! I’ve thought customer service died long ago, but this takes that belief to a whole new level. I’m grateful for the fellow customer who helped you. So sorry for the horrible Walmart experience.

  5. I never shop at Walmart anymore. When Sam Walton found out that those plastic bags were an environmental hazard, he immediately switched to paper. When he died, his heirs switched back to the cheaper plastic. That was just one reason I stopped going there.
