The title of this post was given to me by Sir Derrick, gracias.
I visited Walmart at dawn this morning.
I watched the sun rise from the parking lot.
Although it may be hard to believe, I’m getting a little tired of Dilly Bars. So, I also stopped at Krispy Kreme. The doughnuts were good, of course, but I think they’ve shrunken in size since the last time I indulged. And I would be surprised if the doughnuts were made in-house, as they weren’t that fresh. (Did I mention how small they were?)
Then I had to go to Albertson’s, because they’re the only store that carries the kind of straws I like. Yes, I’m very picky about my straws. They have to be the skinny ones, not the fat ones. Because TMJ.
Finally on my way home. Even at 7am, I was still sweating.
It’s too damn hot. The End. 🙂
Those are some clouds! Wow.

Glad to be of service – and they are still good

Beautiful photos – about the only way I’d ever see that time of day, unless I never went to bed the night before. I especially appreciate your comments interspersed for context, btw. Before I decided to eat GF, I only liked Krispy Kremes when they had just been made – still warm – frequently available around 4AM. The fact that they seemed to shrink as they cooled was only part of the reason.
A confirmed night owl who finally falls asleep near dawn and generally awakens when the sun is high in the sky, I most certainly agree. It’s Too. Darned. HOT. Even my little Shih Tzu is praying for fall – and you know it’s some un-holy heat when even a puppy can’t wait to go back inside. My brain has officially melted. I just discovered the ice cream I bought yesterday — in the refrigerator. Vanilla soup, anyone?
Between the two of us, we could clean the world’s straws out of the stores: I only like the fat ones, even though, unlike you, I do have a choice (so sorry you don’t 😦 )
xx,
mgh

A couple of weeks ago, I brought home a box of Dilly Bars that melted on the way home. And it’s a very short drive. No worries, I just put them in the freezer for awhile, and ate them anyway. 🙂
