As an intractable pain survivor, I know what it feels like to be targeted. When lies are told about you and it seems like the public mostly believes them.
I try to feel sorry for those without the brain power to understand things like DNA. But as someone without a college education, I have to say that it’s really not that hard to understand. So, I tend to think that those who refuse to understand that we are all part of one race — the human race — are choosing to be ignorant.
As an old person, I see that time is limited. And I’m not wasting my limited time on racists, bigots, and the intolerant. And those who choose to be ignorant.
I don’t understand how anyone could believe that one color is better than any other. And I can’t imagine that Mother Nature ever thought of creating only white flowers. Talk about boring.
If you think about it, there are different shades of white, too. But how silly to think that white people would turn against each other just because they were a different shade of white. Well, silly to think about it now, but our history says otherwise.
And economic disparities create their own rifts within white communities, as I’m sure they do in all communities.
Yes, life would be very boring if it was in black and white. And just like there are endless colors in the rainbow, people are endlessly unique. But not because of our DNA.
I support LGBTQ rights because it’s the right thing to do, not because I’m gay.
And wouldn’t it be nice if those who didn’t suffer from chronic pain also supported us in our struggles?
For those who do support pain patients — like friends, neighbors, family members, and bloggers — I thank you.
It’s not right to judge other people’s struggles. The right thing to do is listen and try to understand.
Today I stand (and mourn) with the LGBTQ community, just like I stand (and mourn) with chronic pain patients every single day.
And I stand against and condemn people like this:
