No ma’m. Can you smoke it? 🙂
I’m not sure. I don’t see why not? 🙂 They aren’t that sweet though.
They just aren’t very sweet. I bought some about a month ago.
Lots of things that taste good aren’t sweet. Are you saying they don’t taste good at all?
I didn’t like it. It was really bitter. I’ve seen prickly pear jelly/jam but I’ve never tried it. I’ve also tried the cactus. I didn’t like it either. The prickly pear is called tuna in Spanish. The cactus is nopal in Spanish. I was facinated with tunas when I was little. I like the color just not the taste. They probably have both at the Ranch/Rancho market there in Albuquerque.
Do they sell cactus leaves covered in chocolate? 🙂
I’ve never seen it.
beware those killer cacti.
Killer cacti? Why because of the thorns?
I love cactuses. There is just something about them that has always fascinated me. This reminds me of my first encounter with a lechuguilla plant. I was hiking in Lincoln National Forest when I brushed against one of these. The spines are so sharp I felt no pain as one penetrated right through my heavyweight hiking boot and into my ankle and another went into my calf. I didn’t realize I had been stuck until I felt the blood trickle down my calf and couldn’t figure out what happened until I saw the blood on the spines. I was dumbfounded anything natural could be so sharp!
Ouch! Ayy Ayy Ayy! That sounds extremely painful!
Don’t worry about Payne — he probably deserved it. I can see him now, yelling obscenities at the poor cacti, and they, of course, retaliated. 😀
Aww still :(. I saw the tunas at the grocery store today. Yuck! Lol.
I mean I saw them yesterday! It’s past 2 am now.
My babies know I love them and I would never yell at them, They were just being little pricks as usual 🙂
I can’t wait to introduce them to another little prick I know, Andrew Kolodny.
If you prick us do we not bleed?
If you tickle us do we not laugh?
If you poison us do we not die?
And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?
PS. We have taken Kolodny off his overdose-prone acetaminophen and started him on cacti therapy for his headaches. He doesn’t look too pleased with the results. We will try the porcupine next time.
Quills, not pills, for shills.
The amazing thing is it didn’t hurt at all. The needles are so sharp they penetrated into me without causing pain.

That’s good it didn’t cause pain for you. It sounds really painful though.
