Previous research has found that other video games may ease mental health issues. A 2012 study suggested that Tetris games may assuage flashbacks and other symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

If these types of brain games are approved by the FDA, they could also help address the stigma often attached to seeking therapy or other methods of mental illness treatment. Studies show negative mental health stereotypes act as a barrier to treatment and prevent people from seeking help. The games, as part of a larger treatment plan, could allow people to find relief privately, in the comfort of their own homes…
