I just checked it and it worked fine for me. Did you try the same link on the previous post? Also, you can copy and paste the link into google. Or are you just messing with me because I dared you to clink on the link?
Feeling rejected by a link? Dude, have some chocolate. 🙂
no, really, i’m serious. i copy-pasta’d it, i clicked the link in the post, both in same window and in new…just loads forever and ever and then just quits. not having internet issues, not having issues with other pages, just this one. i must go find some chocolate.
That’s funny, because the first time I tried the link, it did the same thing — just loaded and loaded. Then I found out I had an update waiting, so after that, it worked fine.
If you want to really do something, stop using ALL petroleum products. Driving a Prius really doesn’t help much, when you consider that every single component is made of, or made by something containing, petroleum products. You’ll have to throw out that computer…most of your clothing, even the hemp ones, and anything else manufactured, basically. Can’t ride a bike…tires…oil to make them…etc…and so on…
Are you suggesting we go back to living in log cabins? Burn wood for fuel? Become nudists? And no one I know drives a Prius — we’re stuck with cars that are at least 10 years old.
I’m saying there are a lot of people who blame big oil for the alleged global warming situation. All I’m suggesting is that, if you truly think that’s the case, stop using any and all petroleum products.
That’s the point. It’s just so much noise coming from the mouths and keyboards and paint brushes of well meaning environmentalist zealots who have obviously given very little thought to the nuts and bolts of the issue.
I don’t think spreading awareness of our environmental problems could be defined as zealotry. In fact, a lot of environmental problems can be connected to our own health issues. And why can’t we fight to fine oil and gas companies for the damage they do to the environment? Why can’t we stop the billion-dollar tax breaks these corporations receive?
I suppose that, if you income is not directly related to the oil industry, then these people would not be considered zealots. And, if they believe so completely in the mental jackoffery they engage in, why don’t they stop using oil and its biproducts? No one listens to a lung cancer patient who’s smoked their whole lives. Why should radical environmentalists receive any more credit than that?
Were we talking about radicals? Which photo in this linked gallery made you think any of the artists were radicals? Radicals tend to destroy, which is not exactly considered environmentally conscious. And you know it’s impossible to stop using these products — we are surrounded by them, whether we want to be or not. Yes, manufacturing any kind of product creates pollution, but there’s also ways to decrease that impact, like with hemp. Hemp plants need a lot less water, they enrich the environment, and actually rehabilitate the soil — unlike trees.
I’m just saying that if the corporations were fined for the pollution (and health problems) they create, maybe they would work harder to find new ways to create energy.
Hey…I loved the second one. And, collectively, the presentation represents the impact that radicals are having. Do you understand what happens when those companies are overly fined? And, they are constantly bending to tighter EPA regs , and are already paying enormous fines for the least infractions. When the EPA takes more, more people lose jobs. Not executives, but people like my husband. It trickles down throughout the community and snuffs out small businesses, etc. So, dude…I don’t work for an oil company, but depend on oil for the livelihood of my family. Which has been cut by more than 40% since Obama took office.
Ah, that explains your animosity. But tell me, while this industry is supporting your family, who supports the family made ill by the pollution? The coal miners with broken bodies, scarred lungs, and cancer? Certainly not our health care industry. Since my dad worked for an oil company which supported six kids, I can certainly understand where you’re coming from. But that won’t change the fact that this industry is killing people. It won’t change the fact that our Earth is dying. You may think that money is everything — that is, until you lose your health. Dude.
I don’t feel any animosity. And, you’re right…there are cancer clusters and all sorts of things in the areas around these places. But people make the choice to live there. And they should have the opportunity to make that choice and make a good living. Coal miners…See what they’re up to now that Obama bankrupted that industry. They were a fairly poor group before. Now, their economies are emaciated. But…I guess you think that’s fair. I don’t know. And, I don’t have all the answers. I’m just saying: Stop bitching about it if you aren’t willing to unplug from it. End of story.
The words you choose to use belie the idea that you have no animosity. Poor people have few choices, especially to move elsewhere (along with the ability to “unplug”), but I guess you’d have to experience that kind of life before you could understand it. And it seems like you’re the one doing more bitching than anyone else.
You can keep blaming President Obama for everything if you want to, but that just says more about you than it does about him.
Some great stuff there.

Yes, but don’t you think that would be impossible? Unless you enjoy being nude and having no computer?
