I wrote this years ago, after being abandoned by doctors and while contemplating moving from Texas to a state that has a Medical Cannabis Program.

Invisible I am
Isolated I stay
Impossible to reach
And having no say

Surrounded by gray
Silenced by shame
No one can see me
Separated by pain

Courageous no more
Weakened by guilt
No strength to be found
No light to be felt

Hearing a sound
Too distant I fear
For help to be found
While I am still here

So little, too late
That is my fate
A shrug of my shoulders
A sigh, not a quake
