NY groups test toys, find toxins

But according to a report by the New York League of Conservation Voters Education fund. and Clean and Healthy New York, some big-name brand stores are still selling toxic products. Stores like Target, TJ Maxx, Dollar General, 99 Cent City and Children’s Place stores in Onondaga County are all selling children’s toys with dangerous levels of toxic chemicals in them…

  1. Ah, back in my day I pumped leaded gasoline, had asbestos tiles on my house and swam in a superfund cleanup site that was flooded with water. Oh wait…I got cancer. Hmmmm. I wonder.

    • There was a comment under this article from a guy who said: “So I’ve been chewing on toys all my life and drinkling wines; I’m in for a big ride.”

I don’t think people understand that toys are not made like they were 20 or 30 years ago. They’re all made in foreign countries that don’t have the same regulations as the U.S. And even though the manufacturers say they comply with federal standards, that doesn’t make me feel any better, especially considering that the government doesn’t have enough inspectors to test all the shit that comes into our country.

      • No, you are very true. I was making a joke. The thing that really did it for me was the pet food deaths. All of these people trusted those companies and they were using Chinese suppliers who were putting melamine in it to bolster one of the nutritional requirements, not caring that it would be fatal for consumption. Then all of the Dollar Store stuff, like 85% may be toxic, and it is just a systematic way to kill the poor.
