America, shame on you

http://robertmgoldstein.com/2015/04/15/a-nations-shame-trillions-in-new-wealth-millions-of-children-in-poverty/

America’s wealth grew by 60 percent in the past six years, by over $30 trillion. In approximately the same time, the number of homeless children has also grown by 60 percent…

I don’t think shame is a good thing, but I wonder if politicians even know the meaning of the word.  To quote Pink:

“How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?”

      • Bush and his entire family have done so much harm to this country, going back to Prescott Bush and his financial support of the Nazi’s, along with many other American corporations who also profited from this horrendous event. Too much power is such an terrible addiction. Our last prez Bush wasn’t smart enough to come up with all the terrible things they did during his 8 years. He was just a puppet for the poeple who really run the country. They were happy I’m sure that he spent hundreds of days playing cowboy on his ranch – get him out of the way – more vacation days than many many presidents put together. The thought of yet another Bush in the White house scares the crap out of me. But look at the probable other candidate and we have a bad situation, too. Manipulation. What to say to get people to think we are good people with their best interests at heart? People with blinders on their eyes pretending we aren’t sliding down a very fast slide to ruin, continue to be surprised with each fall of the hatchet on yet another vital component necessary for living. As we come up on yet another election, ( I’m so tired of this.) it gives people more reason to hate people who don’t think like they do, and sadly, all that hate doesn’t affect any change one iota in a positive way.

I had actually recently played that video of Pink and two women on stage singing “Dear Mr President”. When I first heard it, I played it over and over, devastated, knowing people were going to have very short memories of the things that happened during his tenure. Would you post a video of that song, to go along with your post? I think this would be a good time for people to listen to it again. Thank you for making reference to it.

  1. I’m confused, which video, the one we’re talking about, or one that shows Pink and two women on stage? I’ve posted links to Mr. President, like, 4 or 5 times…

And while Bush was probably one of the worst presidents we ever had, all the others are also responsible for making poverty worse in this country (and others), including Clinton, with all his welfare “reforms.”
