In looking for garlic seasoning, I found this store-brand product (pictured above) — and was surprised it was made in China.  Squinting further, I see this label on a McCormick product: Packed in U.S.A. Product of China.

Don’t we make garlic in America anymore?

I finally chose the Lawry’s brand, which said this:  Packed in U.S.A.  Doesn’t mention where the ingredients came from… with my luck, probably China.

  1. With Gilroy, CA, why should we have to import? I mean, they already use cheap migrant labor to pick it, why on Earth would they pay the import costs from China?. Have you driven through Gilroy? You can smell the garlic for 5 miles on either side!
